The Dingelink website was the home for young Danish mobile phone users from spring 1999 to summer 2004 where it was taken offline.

The project was made for TDC, the Danish equivalent of BT, and was the first online community for the newly formed but rapidly growing target group of young mobile phone users.

The project was a jointed creative effort between Phuc van Dang and myself and originally the site only offered downloadable banners and ringtones but as the technology grew, so did the services of the site.

While the functionalities of the site was constantly revised and change to keep up with the accelerating innovations of the mobile phone industry, the visual identity and design was left virtually untouched and held its ground through out the site’s lifespan.

Results

When the site launched it didn’t even have its own domain name but it quickly became very successful and was at its peak one of the top 10 most visited sites in Denmark.
